“Corbin Valley” is not a real place. It’s a fake, an imposter.
It’s a name chosen by investors and developers who hope to turn thousands of acres of Tucker County, West Virginia into a “Resort and Lakeside Master Planned Community.”
It’s named after Corbin Robertson, a Texas billionaire who’s made a fortune in resource extraction and is affiliated with mountain-top removal, climate change denial and the Koch Brothers.
West Virginia, once again, carved up into little pieces for the sake of profit … essentially colonized, by external investment and their supplicants like Jim Justice.
May these ancient hills scorn and punish these forces of greed, destruction and homogenization.
